Recognizing the demands of today's car audio enthusiast, JBL engineers set out to develop a line of purpose-built amplification. Among this seven-amplifier line are four Powervalve? models designed purely for subwoofer applications. Significantly more efficient than conventional Class AB power amplifiers, this design allows us to deliver brute-force horsepower; just what your woofers want. Each model doubles power into two ohms and the Powervalve subwoofer models will drive one ohm. A combination of our unique die-cast heat-sink in conjunction with the incredible efficiency of switching technology facilitates an amplifier that runs much cooler and draws far less current than conventional designs. To maximize performance and system control, each model has a built-in variable electronic crossover and variable bass-boost circuit. JBL's Powervalve amplifiers are Built for BASS!
